Transfer of the information presented by Álvaro de la Mezquita by proxy on the takeover of the San Antonio by Gaspar de Quesada and Juan de Cartagena on April 1, 1520.

Authorized transfer by Gonzalo Matute, ordinary magistrate of Seville, and public notary of Seville Bernal González de Vallecillo, at the request of the representative of Álvaro de la Mezquita, Juan de Santiago, servant of the commander Diego Barbos (Magellan's father-in-law), magistrate of the Royal Alcázars and Shipyards of Seville, of information signed by Martín Méndez, scribe of the Victoria, Sancho de Heredia, scribe of the Concepción, and Domingo de Urrutia, sailor of the Trinidad, in the name of the senior clerk of the armada Gonzalo Gómez de Espinosa, who did not know how to write. This information is a collection of the testimonies of various witnesses of the takeover of the San Antonio by Gaspar de Quesada and Juan de Cartagena on April 1, 1520, in the course of their mutiny against captain Magellan, his armada being in the port of San Julián.

Álvaro de la Mezquita requested the transfer through a representative due to being imprisoned, while the circumstances in which he had become a prisoner of the San Antonio were clarified. The ship had deserted the armada of Ferdinand Magellan and arrived in Seville at the beginning of May 1521.
