Ink Stick Table

This is a low table used for placing an ink stick after rubbing it on an ink stone. The table has a simple design with a flat top and short legs. Some tables assume a desk shape, while others have both ends of the table top rolled inward to act as legs. There are also U-shaped tables. These tables are made of jade, stone, bamboo, wood, ceramics, and ivory, and the legs are sometimes decorated on both sides with carved animal or plant patterns.
