    Melbourne Police Office 25 April 1842. Sir, It is my duty, as residing Magistrate to report to Your Honor, that the Gaol is inconveniently full, and likely to become still more crowded. I have therefore the honor to request you will take into your earliest consideration the best means of disposing of the numerous prisoners necessarily committed.
