In this photo of the inside of the Powerhouse, a worker in a dark suit with a flat-topped hat poses with some of the vital equipment for the generating station. Large pulleys on the left are connected with wide belts to the generators situated on the floor of the room. Three different generators were in the Powerhouse in 1934: one to operate the outdoor lighting system, one to operate the indoor lighting system, and one to operate the lock machinery. The round windows indicate that this photograph was taken on the second floor of the Powerhouse.
