The mosaics in the Quire were redesigned by William Blake Richmond to include more colour in 1890, and they were first unveiled in 1896. They were produced by British workmen, two of which are pictured here installing one of the mosaics depicting two large cats.
The mosaics we have today differs dramatically from Richmond's designs due to damage inflicted by World War Two.
