The perspective depicted here provides a view into the complex, layered spaces of the Dana home’s primary entertaining hall, with a musician’s balcony just visible in the upper left rear of the view. The image includes details that were not executed in the completed home, such as the sculptural finial to the right of the stair and the portieres on the extreme left side and right of the staircase. The Wright-designed armchairs and tables occupy the main floor, and a spherical copper urn filled with branches balances upon a ledge. Wright’s design for a rug for the house occupies the lower right of the image; it features a stylized sumac plant design—the leitmotif of the Dana House.
