Burelly was among the first architects in Valahia with studies in Paris, eventually becoming chief architect of Bucharest. He was a member in several coordination and approval committees for some of the greatest building projects in Bucharest. He also contributed to the construction project for the Zoe Brancoveanu Trusteeship.
The oldest record identified so far about arch. Burelly dates back to March 23rd, 1871. It is an authorization request to build a stall, a shed, rooms for the coachman and a fence at his property in Mercur street no 15 (source: A.N.D.M.B., fond P.M.B., FILE 43/1871, p. 148)
