Interview with Lulamile Madolo

Mr. Lulamile Madolo was imprisoned on Robben Island from 1977-1982 for defying the unjust laws of the Apartheid government. He describes how prisoners went on hunger strikes to protest poor prison conditions.
Their strikes led to improvements in prison conditions, including food, bedding, and more humane treatment from prison warders. He and fellow prisoners were actively engaged in their studies.
