Kádár initially painted naturalistic paintings. Later he was influenced by the art of Rippl-Rónai. In 1921 he organized a joint exhibition with Hugo Scheiber. In the 1920s he developed a distinctive expressive-abstract style. This painting is a representative work of his mature period, which was probably made in the 1940s. The painting is characterized by melodic, musical lines, noble stylization and surrealistic vision. The latter is a general feature in the late works of the artist. The female nude silhouette fits around the barely labeled fixtures and decors that are composed around it. The bright colors and graceful lines subtly complement each other, creating a unified, harmonious effect.
