The Prince of Wales (Prince Charles) wears a 20th century Gold Coronet and ermine trimmed mantle during his investiture as The Prince of Wales. Prince Charles was created Prince of Wales and Earl of Chester by Letters Patent on 26 July 1958, but the investiture ceremony did not take place until 1 July 1969 at Caernarfon Castle in Wales.
