Irish Nationality Room

View of the Irish Nationality Room inside the Cathedral of Learning. Dedicated May 18, 1957, the mostly stone Irish room represents a 12th century Irish Christian oratory. The stone above the blackboard contains pre-Christian symbols, like cat masks and boar heads. The column contains masks representing the fact that paganism stayed in Ireland even after Christianity arrived.
