This ornament represents a warrior in the Jin army that wore protective iron armor. The horses were also covered in armor. These warriors were called stupa (or tie futu) because they looked like moving stupas made of iron. The cavalry would have served the Jin state general, Jin Wushu. This warrior would have traveled with Jin Wushu to fight in the north and the south, where they achieved great things. The warrior is carrying a halberd in his left hand and holds the horse’s reins in his right hand.
