Isa Noyola (born 1978) began to identify as a feminist after being shamed for dressing up as Wonder Woman. The daughter of pastors in a Pentecostal church, she grew up to become a transgender activist and leader in the national LGBTQ immigrant rights movement.
In Santa Ana in 2015, she organized the first transgender protest against the detention and deportation of undocumented LGBTQ immigrants. Noyola has been a leader at the Transgender Law Center and in the #Not1More campaign that advocates for immigration reform. She is also the founder of El/La Para TransLatinas, a nonprofit organization that provides services to transgender Latinas.
