Among Preston’s awards were the Award of Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society in London, and the Massachusetts Horticultural Society in Boston.
Between 1920 and her retirement in 1947, she also developed beautiful varieties of lilies, roses, lilacs, columbines, and crabapple trees.
