The expressive and iconographic coincidences between this work and the mask, in sheet iron, entitled Laughter, ca. 1915 (perhaps also a portrait of Nonell, or at least apparently inspired by certain peculiar features of her face), and included in this catalogue, and some of the always characteristic self-portraits of Nonell himself.
