Isola delle Femmine

A follower of Francesco Lojacono’s school, Cortegiani interprets the sensitivity of the Sicilian master in rendering the sun’s dazzling power by depicting the sandy environment of the famous little isle off the coast of Palermo. The painting features few wanderers and fishermen so it is mainly a striking visual experience due to the transformation of the realistic scene and the use of bright colours.
