Ivan Khlebnikov enamel spoon

A highly decorative tea spoon with enamel miniature of 'young woman in Russian folk dress' dating to 1888 by the Russian Khlebnikov Factory. The spoon is made of silver, champlevé enamel, painted enamel, casting, gilding. The Khlebnikov Factory was one of the leading Moscow jewellery firms, a Partnership Ivan Khlebnikov, Sons and Co who produced the most diverse products: from silverware to interior decorations of the Kremlin cathedrals.This type of spoon decoration was very popular during the last years of the Khlebnikov Factory which moved to Moscow in 1871, but later closed down during the Russian Revolution in 1917.
