Edouard Adam, artist. Painting, oil on canvas; unframed; signed 'Ed. Adams, Le Havre'. Ship NORTH STAR, port view with mainsail, lower mizzen and top sail furled. Black hull. All flags flying. 2 crew forward, 2 at helm. Promenade of land aft and a smaller vessel off starboard bow. Moderate sea, clear blue and light cloud sky. Plain gilt frame. Painted by official government artist, Edouard Adam in Le Havre, France, in second half of 19th century. NORTH STAR built in 1871 by Wm. Moses. Two name changes, WILHELM out of Germany and VEGA out of Genoa, Italy. Broke up in 1907.
