Jack was a member for 63 years , He joined the club in 1923 and obtained his bronze medallion in December that year. He served on the Club Committee as a office holder, as assistant Honorary Secretary 1924/25, Honorary Secretary 1925-27, Carnival Organiser 1925-27, Social Secretary 1926/27, Publicity Officer 1927-29, Honorary Beach Inspector 1926-33, Committee Man 1932/33, Patrol Captain 1929-32, Club Captain 1932/33, Vice President 1933-1950, 1955, President 1950-54, Vice Patron 1976-1991. Delegate to SLSA 1925-55, SLSA Executive 1925-55, Assistant Secretary, Vice President, Life Member Club Branch NSW and Australia.
Jack introduced the first public address system to surf carnivals in 1928 and called the action.
Joing the AIF Jack was captured in Singapore and survived Changi. He recovered well, making his presence felt at the old Head Centre SLSA and keeping North Bondi cause at the forefront. One of the Club's most outstanding Administrators, Jack was a life member for 68 years.
