Sunday Too Far Away (1975) directed by Ken Hannam
Set on a remote sheep station in the weeks before the 1956 shearers' strike, Sunday Too Far Away became a modern classic. In his 2005 oral history actor Robert Bruning remembers: 'we gathered on the first day … the first thing I discovered was that we were all as equally excited as I was … We had a good script with good characters that we could play – just teach us how to shear, that's all we want to know.' This still belongs to the scenes near the beginning of the shear and records the genuine camaraderie in the actors' performances.
