Throughout Schiaparelli's career, she experimented with multiple unique forms of closures made of various materials, such as ceramic mermaid ornaments, and metal lion head, composition gumball and bullet-shaped buttons. A good example of her interest in creative closures, this jacket of crisp broadcloth fastened with metal clips, cuts a chic silhouette. The placement of the closures and the wrap-like construction create a quadrant effect, making the garment appear double-breasted.
