Jacket, called gombaiz, part of the Berber costume. It is made of black silk velvet and is embroidered with gold metallic thread with phytomorphic and geometric motifs that adorn the front, cuffs and sleeve. This example comes from Morocco, where numerous Sephardic communities moved during the diaspora, continuing the traditions in rituals such as weddings.
Together with other elements such as the pectoral, the skirt, and jewelry, it forms the outfit that Sephardic brides wear at the "cloth ceremony". During this ceremony, which is also called Henna Night or Berber Night, the family of the groom and the bride, along with their friends, gather to sing and praise the bride.
