This book case, which was used to store a jade investiture book, was produced in 1795, the 19th year of King Jeongjo’s reign, when King Jeongjo bestowed the additional honorary title “徽穆(Beautiful Harmony)”on his mother Queen Heongyeong. Its outer surface is red-lacquered and painted with plums, bamboo, orchids, and phoenix in gold.
