Jaime Guimarães Cibrão was born on the 17th of November 1872 in Valença do Minho. The only record found of his formal education is that he studied History at the Academic School of Porto. He was also an employee of the Administration House in Porto's Oriental neighbourhood, co-founder of the Porto Orpheon in 1910, occasional writer for the newspaper O Minhoto and illustrator of birds for João Alves dos Reis Júnior. Much of his life has yet to be revealed, but it is hypothesised that he learnt to draw through his uncle, General Luciano Cibrão, who was known for his illustration skills.
Jaime Cibrão died on 13rd February 1943 in Massarelos, Porto.
