Jaja is a collection of apparatuses that celebrates the interactions and values of a temporary third place: a veggie peddler. Vegetable peddlers are a unique temporary space where people can get to know each other, interact, and share values. To celebrate and strengthen their identity as the third place, this family of apparatuses is attachable to the peddler cart. Each apparatus has a different type of ability; one is retractable, one is expandable, some are detachable. These abilities should bring benefits both for the peddler and the third place. The third place might have its role in forging and galvanizing the relationship within a community, thus making it more sustainable and, in the future, more resilient. Through this proposal, we pose the question: could resiliency be nurtured through social interactions in a third place?
