Overcoat used by James Mackaness while working for the Experimental Engineering Department at General Motors-Holden’s.

A white discoloured and stained textile long-sleeved lab coat with large pockets at the hip and one on the left breast. Blue embroidery on the breast pocket reads “J.B.MACKANESS / GMH / LTD / ENGINEERING / DEPT”.

There are two broken buttons at the centre.
