James McLay the "Honey Uncle"

James McLay was the uncle of Arthur, Walter and William Davidson who co-founded Harley-Davidson Motor Company with William S. Harley. McLay was a beekeeper referred to be relatives as the "Honey Uncle." He loaned $170 to the founders in 1904 to help them continue to grow the young Motor Company.
