Jane Austen suffrage banner

Banner, silk striped (cream, yellow, red) satin weave ground, date '1775-1817' painted in black, appliquéd scroll of orange cotton velvet and cream plain woven cotton with black painted text 'JANE AUSTEN', appliquéd book of cream wool with gold painted details, all appliqué outlined in gold metal wrapped braid, orange, brown and cream fringe along bottom edge, lined with yellow twill weave cotton, five tabs in orange velvet along top edge for hanging, yellow silk wrapped cord with tassels of orange wool at each end threaded through the tabs, used in the Jun 1908 NUWSS Procession [National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies (NUWSS)].
