Japanese court suit

This spectacular coatee and hat are undergoing conservation for the first time. HRP acquired the Japanese court suit, or “taireifuku”, in 2012 and are now conserving it and researching it for display. Through research and the conservation process, our experts have uncovered details about how the suit was made, as well as learning more about taireifuku and the development of Western clothing.
