These Japanese dishes are used for food education conducted by Sanshin Kako Co., Ltd. Their Food Education Starting with the Dish program uses actual Japanese dishes to explain how Japanese people in the past showed their respect for everything around them (nature, people, life, objects, etc.) and introduces that respect with a physical form. Sanshin Kako conducts these lessons on site at elementary schools and junior high schools with the goal of helping children make new realizations and incorporate not only understanding for the culture of Japan, but history with an understanding and respect for the cultures of other countries, as well.
