Japanese in Peru Deported to the United States of America

In April 1942, the Peruvian government began the deportation of Japanese Peruvians to internment camps in the US. Most of the deportees were leaders of the immigrant community including diplomats, teachers, business owners, artisans, farmers, tailors, and barbers.
