This is a steamer designed for growing bean sprouts. Bean sprouts were grown in a steamer with holes at the bottom in the shade with water poured frequently into it. Though a rice cake steamer was occasionally used to grow bean sprouts, a steamer designed specifically for bean sprouts was also used. A steamer for bean sprouts was longer than a typical rice cake steamer, and had several small holes at the bottom, instead of large holes. Some were conical in shape and made of bush clover.
