Setsuwa (Young Thunder) is the main character of the Japanese folktale Jiraiya Gōketsu Monogatari (The Tale of the Gallant Jiraiya). It tells the story of a ninja who can magically shapeshift into a giant toad.
The story consists of 11 volumes, the illustrations of which were created by Hokusai in 1806. Characters from this novel are still used today in manga and anime.
