Félix Plantalech i Batlle (1950) After studying at the Eina School and participating in painting and sculpture workshops with acclaimed national artists, he has dedicated his professional career to artistic and pictorial creation since 1983. He is associated with the Palma 12 art gallery in Vilafranca del Penedès, with an abstract pictorial work, with symbolisms and figurative references closely linked to the region. Throughout his artistic career, he has developed a style, a practice and a personal and creative thinking that defines him and has in common a reflection on the rural environment: the landscape and the natural and architectural elements that define it. He was recognised by the Study Institute of the El Penedes Region with the Santiago Rusiñol Art Award in 2011. The reeds, vines, crops and furrows so characteristic of our landscape are elements that inspire the work of Fèlix Plantalech, elements which allow him to explore the rhythm, harmonious repetition, undulation and swaying. As he himself says, he is not seeking the grandness of the landscape; on the contrary, he is interested in the humility and simplicity of these smaller plots, which become a poetic element from which a bridge or link is established towards his inner feelings and memory. 28th Tapiró Painting Award, 1992 Art Biennial
