Javier Prado

Portrait of "Javier Prado y Ugarteche" (Lima, 1871-1921). Doctor in Letters and Jurisprudence from the University of San Marcos (1891). Professor of the Faculty of Letters, where he was dean and, later, rector (1915-1920). He created the museums of Natural History and Archaeology of the University of San Marcos. He held important academic and governmental positions, including senator, minister and director of the Peruvian Academy of Language.
