As nationally recognized as Jean Harlow became as an actress and sex symbol, and remains so today, her life was tragically short. She was born in Kansas City as Harlean Harlow Carpenter on March 3, 1911. She died in Los Angeles, California on June 7, 1937 at the age of 26. For her first major film she was signed by Director Howard Hughes to star in Hell’s Angels in 1930. Just as her career was on the rise little could her adoring fans know that her stardom, and life, would be over just seven years later.
