Written on the front of the photograph below Davitt and his dragoman are two black x's and 'Mr. Davitt. His Dragoman'. Written in black pen on the back of the photograph 'Mr. Davitt and his Dragoman among a group of Jewish artisans, their wives & children, in the yard in the Skulanska Rogatka suburb, Kishineff, where four men & a young girl were murdered ; the young girl, Feya Wouller, aged 13, having been violated by the assassins & then torn asunder. Some of the women & girls in the picture were outraged by the mob. Picture taken May 24th. 1903.' and 'Cahir Davitt'. Written in pencil on the back of the photograph '557 Jewish Chronicle Monday 11 April' and there is a green cross in the top right corner on the back of the photograph
