Although by 1933 cardboard die-cut puzzles became widely available, many wood puzzles could still be found. A manufacturer in Williamsport, Pennsylvania produced wooden greeting cards, printed and then cut into jigsaw puzzles. These were generally mailed to the recipient unassembled. He or she then had the pleasure of assembling the puzzle to read the message.
