In the 1920s John Lloyd Wright, the second son of American architect Frank Lloyd Wright, designed the construction toy Lincoln Logs based on one of his father's designs for a building foundation. He found success with the toys, following in the tradition of both Tinker Toys and Erector sets, which had appeared earlier. During the jigsaw puzzle fad of the early 1930s, the firm apparently produced some jigsaw puzzles. Playing off the well-known name "Lincoln Logs," Wright's puzzles were called "Lincoln Log Historical Jig Saw Puzzles," and each one of this series, at least, is a puzzle with a scene from the life of Abraham Lincoln.
