During the second great craze for jigsaw puzzles in America, which peaked in 1933, many different cardboard puzzle makers appeared. An adult puzzle with the title "Captain Kidd's Gold" shows an image of a smiling pirate, with a ship in the background. Puzzle boxes at this time generally did not carry images of the completed puzzle and the titles could be deceiving as well.
