The style of this silk robe has a straight collar, long-sleeved, front opening, with narrow cuffs and a large lower hem. It matches the typical Hu clothing style in the Eastern Han Dynasty. The fabrics use strand rib organization. It has the features of typical Han Dynasty silk strand craftsmanship features. The pattern is distributed in stripes with matching birds and beasts patterns. What’s more, there are red on white decorative ribbons with the two-character lucky Chinese inscription reading “Royal” , along the edge of the blouse that crosses over the chest. This silk robe is very similar to the “All the Best“ Chinese inscription silk robe from the Eastern Han period which was unearthed from a couples’ tomb in Niya, Xinjiang Province in 1959.
