On this piece of silk tabby, double-line hexagons serve as the decorative framework. The leftmost hexagon shape is filled with a looking-around lion pattern with two rear legs kneeling, one of the front leg stretching forward while the other raising above the head, and the tail curling upwards. Woven characters can be found around the lion, namely, “宜” (Yi, meaning for the sake of) between the two front legs, “王” (Wang, meaning the emperor) between head and tail, and “大吉” (Da Ji, meaning lots of blessing) between front and rear legs.
