Joanne Maguire is a brilliant Aeronautical Engineer whose work has been instrumental to the development of human space flight systems.
She led Lockheed Martin Corporation’s Space Systems Company (SSC), overseeing development of multiple space exploration endeavors, as well as the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle. Maguire’s passion for engineering has been contagious, and she increased the number of women employed and in leadership positions at Lockheed. She sponsored both the Women’s and LGBT Leadership Forums. She was the first female recipient of the prestigious international Von Karman Wings Award and one of only a few women named as a fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). Maguire has been a tireless mentor, role model, and supporter of STEM education for girls and women.
