Bust portrait of John Hancock (1737-1793), seated, facing three-quarters right. Powdered wig, covers three quarters of ear, rolled at ends, tied in back in bag or ribbon. Blue eyes. White collar, stock, and shirt ruffle. Dark blue waistcoat and coat, both with gold braid applied; brass buttons on coat. Seated in Queen Anne chair at bottom left. Light gray-blue & pink background, apparently discolored at bottom right.
