Josefsplatz (now a pedestrian zone), viewed here from a low angle, had little in the way of surviving historical structures left after 1954. The drawing makes clear that Neubauer also welcomed modern plaza designs. The breadth of the complex has a big-city elegance. Today it is still the entryway to Nuremberg's business district, and to the pedestrian zone.
