Josip Jurčič's fellowship in the Evropa Hotel

The photograph was taken in 1877. It was reproduced in 28th issue of the journal Ilustrirani Slovenec (Illustrated Slovene) in 1925. The literary club that operated in the Hotel Evropa café in Ljubljana was attended by politicians, journalists and writers. Nowadays, they are recognized to be very important in shaping Slovenian cultural history. On the picture are J. Jurčič, J. Stare, F. Wiesthaler, M. Pleteršnik, I. Murnik, E. Savnik, F. Ambrožič.
