The book Journey to the Alcarria is a masterpiece of travel literature. The sentence “the Alcarria is a delightful country where people don’t feel like going” comes from the dedication that Nobel Prize winning author Camilo Jose Cela wrote to Mr Gregorio Marañon. It is an irony that calls for contradiction. Today, 70 years later, we do feel like going.
