József Szilágyi (1917-1958) was a lawyer who acted as Imre Nagy's personal secretary from 27 October to 4 November 1956. Together with Nagy and colleagues, he sought asylum in the Yugoslav Embassy in Budapest, before being handed over to the Soviets. Sentenced to death by the Supreme Court People's Council for efforts to overthrow the state.
Buried in an unmarked grave at Plot 301 in Budapest's New Public Cemetery and publicly reburied on 16 June 1989.
