At the Little Theatre of Ancient Epidaurus, Francis Poulenc’s La voix humaine found new resonance under the bold direction of Maria Panourgia. Inspired by Jean Cocteau’s heartbreaking monologue, soprano Myrsini Margariti performed amidst five dancer-actors confined in telephone booths, each echoing the heroine’s emotional turmoil. Accompanied by Maria Papapetropoulou’s piano, the set design mirrored the heroine’s fragile state, transforming loss and longing into an intimate, haunting theatrical experience.
