This mudha was recorded at a craftsperson’s workshop. The exposed ends of the sarkanda stalk used to make the body and backrest were covered with artificial leather. The circular frame at the bottom was covered with a used rubber tyre. Traditionally, both these were made using cotton or munjh ropes. The change in material is to enable easy replacement when it gets worn out.
